The Structure Of Activated Alumina Was Changed By Hydrothermal Treatment

Dec 29, 2021 Leave a message

Although the hydrothermal treatment of activated alumina can significantly change its pore structure and surface properties, the high-temperature acid and alkali environment and long treatment time often lead to the excessive growth of AlOOH crystal, which leads to the serious pore expansion of activated alumina carrier and the significant reduction of specific surface area and pore volume. Therefore, the excessive growth of boehmite (AlOOH) crystal must be avoided during hydrothermal treatment in order to achieve the effect of regulating pore structure.

If the dosage is insufficient, it is impossible to achieve the purpose of drying; If the dosage is too much, the liquid will be lost due to its adsorption.

Before using the desiccant, it is best to make a small test to roughly determine the amount of desiccant once. Due to the different water content, the difference of desiccant quality, the particle size of desiccant and the temperature during drying, it is difficult to specify the specific amount.

During operation, a small amount of desiccant is generally put into the liquid for shaking. If the desiccant adheres to the wall or adheres to each other, it indicates that the amount of desiccant is not enough, and desiccant shall be added; If the water phase appears after the desiccant is put in, the water must be sucked out with a straw, and then a new desiccant must be added. Before drying, the liquid is turbid and becomes clear after drying, which can be simply used as a sign of basic removal of water.

Generally, the dosage of desiccant is about 0.5 ~ 1g per 10ml of liquid. The above parameters are for reference only. Customers should select the amount of desiccant according to the water content of the dried medium, the working temperature of the desiccant and other factors. Our company can provide customers with relevant desiccant parameters, so that customers can more accurately determine the dosage of desiccant.
