Activated alumina has good adsorption capacity, strong surface activity and excellent thermal stability, so it can be widely used. This aspect is closely related to the raw material composition of activated alumina. There are two kinds of raw materials for its production, one is "quick de powder" produced by gibbsite or Bayer stone, and the other is pseudo boehmite produced by aluminate or aluminum salt or both. Let's introduce the production of these two raw materials.
1、 X- ρ Production of alumina
x- ρ Alumina is the main raw material for the production of activated alumina balls, which is referred to as FCA in foreign countries. In China, it is called "rapid dehydration" because it is aluminum oxide powder produced by rapid dehydration method. "Quick de pulverization" is x-alumina and ρ - The content of alumina mixture varies due to the difference of production conditions.
2、 Production method of pseudo boehmite
Alumina monohydrate and alumina trihydrate produced naturally or artificially cannot be used as desiccant, adsorbent, catalyst and catalyst carrier because of their low specific surface area, small pore volume and low activity. Alumina monohydrate or alumina trihydrate needs to be processed into pseudo boehmite. Pseudo boehmite has high specific surface area, large pore volume, large pore size and high activity. It is suitable for being used as desiccant, adsorbent, catalyst and catalyst carrier in the fields of petrochemical industry, chemical fertilizer and tail gas.
The above is the classification of activated alumina raw materials. Only when we operate these two materials correctly can we improve their quality, so that they can have better results in the synthesis of our products.
