Activated alumina desiccant, commonly known as aluminum glue, is an extremely stable new desiccant, which is widely used in various non heated or heated regenerative adsorption dryers. Under certain operating and regeneration conditions, its drying depth is up to the dew point temperature below - 70 ℃. Activated alumina desiccant is white and spherical, with uniform pore distribution and strong ability to adsorb water. It has the characteristics of multi pores, high strength, no soft, no cracking, no expansion and no pulverization after soaking in water.


Activated alumina desiccant has become one of the most widely used industrial desiccants in industrial production. For example, power plants, coal mines and steel mills all need deep desiccant gas in the production process, which is directly related to production safety. The quality of activated alumina desiccant plays a decisive role in the performance of regenerative adsorption dryer, To ensure the long-term stable and reliable operation of desiccant, if inferior activated alumina desiccant is used, the serious consequences are as follows:


1. Poor strength, wear under the action of air flow, the adsorbable area decreases, the water absorption efficiency decreases and the dew point increases. Moreover, a large amount of powder produced by wear is easy to block the downstream pipeline filter element, resulting in the rise of differential pressure of pipeline filter element or even failure, the increase of system pressure drop, the increase of energy consumption of air compressor, and even direct damage to the dryer.


2. In case of water expansion, softening, or even pulverization, activated alumina fails.


3. The specific surface area is small, the activated alumina desiccant with the same filling weight can not meet the required water absorption area, low efficiency, and the dew point can not meet the design requirements.


Several indexes of activated alumina desiccant play an important role in the production process:


1. The smaller the wear rate of activated alumina, the longer the service life of desiccant, less powder and low operation cost.


2. The larger the specific surface area, the better the water absorption effect, the lower the dew point of the treated compressed air, and the production is stable and reliable.


3. The higher the compressive strength, the softer it will remain in contact with water and will not expand, so as to further ensure the service life and operation reliability.
