What is the difference between the state of activated alumina powder and high temperature alumina powder

High-temperature alumina powder is made of industrial aluminum hydroxide and bauxite, molecular sieve and grinding balls as raw materials, and is calcined in a tunnel kiln for a long time at high temperature. During the smelting process, the carbon in the anthracite reduces the impurities such as silicon oxide (SiO2), iron oxide and titanium oxide in the alumina into metals. These metals combine to form a ferroalloy, which is denser than the corundum melt and sinks The furnace bottom is separated from the corundum melt.

High temperature alumina powder has strong anti-breaking ability, anti-oxidation, anti-corrosion, and has good chemical stability. It is an abrasive with a wide range of uses.

Activated alumina powder is an abrasive made of industrial aluminum hydroxide powder as raw material, heated and melted and recrystallized in an electric arc furnace. In the smelting process, the impurities in the raw materials are not eliminated. Therefore, the quality of activated alumina is closely related to the purity of the raw materials. The content of A12O3 in activated alumina should be above 99.5%, and its hardness is higher than that of high-temperature alumina powder, but it is more brittle.

It has good cutting, oxidation and gas corrosion resistance, and has good insulation. It is mainly used for fine grinding and fine grinding of quenched steel and alloy steel, grinding threads and gears, etc. The activated alumina powder can also be used for precision casting and advanced refractory materials.
