XR A-99 alumina ball 99% is composed of greater than 99% alpha alumina and lower than 0.25wt% SiO2 .its high-alumina content, low silica and high strength make this product ideal for high-temperature and steam applications, such as secondary reformers in ammonia processing, where leached silica can coat downstream equipment or foul the catalyst bed.
The excellent thermal properties of XR A-99 support balls , combined with their high density and ability to withstand operating temperatures to 1650oC , also make it good choice for heat retention or equilibration media .
The superior chemical resistance of XR A-99 high alumina balls make it suitable for applications in olefin process such as ethylene dryers, where polymerization could be a problem.
The high purity and low silica content also make XR A-99 balls an excellent choice for high temperature applications in the presence of reducing atmospheres, where silica leaching must be held minimal, such as in reforms for synthesis gas production
The low level of other impurities make XR A-99 balls an excellent recommendation for supporting adsorbents used to purify reactive monomers such as ethylene and propylene.
The Applications of XR A-99 Alumina Balls:
Desulfurizers
Dehydrogenation
Catalytic reforming
Catalytic isomerization
Ethylene cracking and drying
Polymerization
Low temperature shift
High temperature shift
Methanator
Naphtha reforming
Methanol and hydrogen production (Primarily reforming)
