Activated Alumina Iron Ball (Fe2O3 AL2O3 catalyst beads) (Iron Oxide Desulfurizer) (Iron Oxide Ball) is a highly active Claus and de-leak O2 protective dual function catalyst. The catalyst is mainly composed of a modified activated alumina carrier and an appropriate amount of active metal salts. When there is a de-leakage O2 in the gas stream, O2 can be catalytically converted into SO2 (the conversion mechanism is as follows):

 MSO4+2H2S→MS2+SO2+2H2O 
MS2+O2→MSO4+SO2 

The trace amount of O2 remaining in the Claus process gas is reduced to below 10 ppm to avoid or protect the Al2O3-based catalyst from sulfation poisoning.
